The Ministry of Health launches a vast campaign in favor of vaccination Romania

Radio Romania is the first media institution to join this effort, launching the “VACCINE FOR LIFE” information campaign, which ran from July 17 to 28.

180,000 children in our country are not vaccinated against measles and 80,000 have not been immunized against poliomyelitis – these are data announced by Prime Minister Mihai Tudose this week. The latest data shows that since September, since the start of the measles outbreak, 8,000 cases have been confirmed and 31 people have died from the disease.

The president of the Romanian Society of Microbiology, Alexandru Rafila, told his colleagues at Radio Iași that parents should be informed by authorized sources – by doctors or specialists who can explain to them the consequences of refusing to have a vaccination their children:

Alexandru Rafila: When we refuse to have our child vaccinated, we, as parents, have to assume it. Look at what happens with measles: children under the age of one, for whom vaccination is not yet recommended, get sick and die, older children who get sick because they have not been vaccinated. The fairest thing we can do is give the parent the opportunity to be informed. Each doctor is vaccinated, he has his children vaccinated in turn, and I don’t think doctors who are also parents would do that if they had the slightest doubt about the harmfulness of the vaccine.

Producer: The Ministry of Health will launch a major vaccination campaign next week. All the measures put in place by the health authorities provide for an information campaign for parents on the need for vaccination, meetings with the press, videoconferences with the prefects and the public health services to establish the measures that will be taken at the local level, reports RRA Marilena Frâncu told us.

Radio Romania Actualità, Antena Satelor, Radio Romania Cultural and Radio Romania Regional will present the risks to which the unvaccinated are exposed, the side effects, the reasons why some parents refuse to have their children vaccinated and the need for new legislation in the field of vaccination
